Grant is an innovative public educator and potter living in St. Paul, MN. He has taught in and directed innovative language learning programs since 1997.

He has been making pots since 1997 when his friend and mentor, Steve Hilton, first introduced him to clay. He apprenticed with Haddie Hadachek at Black Bear Pottery in Brainerd, MN and got his hands in clay whenever possible while also embarking on a career teaching languages.

In language education, he pioneered innovative methods to reach and teach ALL his middle school students.

In the studio he explores the convergence of the processes of language acquisition and ceramic art.

The Art of Engaging Novice Learners

EACH of our students can acquire language in a way that helps them achieve real proficiency and makes them want to continue learning. Widespread student success depends on us. Learn how the presenter’s mantra of “Slow down and Simplify” can help make your life easier while each novice learner builds more confidence, acquires language naturally and experiences real JOY in the process.
