W-21 Creating Virtual Field Trips for World Language & Culture Learning

Rachel Faerber-Ovaska--Youngstown State University

In this workshop, learn how to create Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) for world language & culture teaching, and discover their unique benefits. Teacher-created VFTs permit students to travel virtually to target language locations, and interact digitally with authentic cultural and linguistic sites, artifacts, and activities. Learner exploration of online linguistic landscapes and environments lends itself to task-based learning and customized, differentiated language & culture learning. For all languages; high school & post-secondary students. You’ll need to bring a laptop w/Internet access.
